This bay is oficially the brightest bioluminiscent bay in the world recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records of 2008. It is located in the southern shore of the island. The luminiscence is the result of hundreds of millions of a microscopic organism called dinoflagelates (Pyrodinium Bahamense). When the water is agitated, these organisms react emiting a blue-green light. Imagine yourself, seat in your kayak in this beautiful lagoon or swimming in the middle of the night with your body lightning up. Only you, the water and the sky full of stars.
